Keep your hair looking vibrant, shiny and healthy!

Each of us that have tried the technical lightening service on our hair, we have been informed about how important their aftercare is. The chemical compounds that are used during its process, cause negative consequences to the hair quality, like dehydration, dryness, discoloration, it becomes more vulnerable to damage, but also changes its texture, losing its natural shine.

But, what is this service?

It is a method that is used by professionals to bleach the hair shaft or otherwise lighten its color. Therefore, it's not about a type of dye, like some people probably believe, it's a powder that is mixed with an oxeidant and removes the dye from colored hair,  but also from those that retain their natural color, so that we can then dye our hair with the color that we desire.

So, before you decide to use this service to your hair, you should have on mind that it is needed to adopt a care routine, beacause it is the most critical part that follows next.According to experts, 70% of decaped hair that looks healthy and shiny is due to home care, where they show the necessary attention. In it, therefore, you will primarily include their intensive hydration, as well as aiming at their reconstruction. Combined with visits to the hairdresser, you will have achieved the ideal result for your hair.

Read below the necessary steps and get rid of the dull – damaged hair!

At home:

Invest in “soft” products:

Shampoo and conditioner are the basic hair care products, thta's why you should choose them based on your needs. They are used during each wash and they are important for maintaing the hair health. Specifically:

Shampoo: Choose one that is specially designed for sensitive hair. Look for those that claim to be free of sulfates and corrosive chemicals. The shampoo should gently cleanse the hair without dehydrating it.

Conditioner: Helps restore moisture to the hair and makes combing easier. Choose one that is light and hydrating, without heavy ingredients.

Choose a hydrating mask:

This procedure after decaping should be done once a week, to maintain the health and the moisture of your hair. Prefer a hair mask that is formulated to hydrate the decaped hair. Look for products that contain ingredients, such as glycerin, provitamin B5, aloe vera or oils, like argan and olive oil.

Application: After shampooing, apply generously the mask on your hair. Focus on the areas that need mostly repair, such as the ends of the hair.

Follow the instructions on the package for its duration of action. Typically, this ranges from 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the product. It is important to adhere to this time to achieve the best results.

Rinse off with lukewarm water. Make sure that you have remove all the residues of the mask from your hair.

Beware of heat:

The high temperature causes further damage to already damaged hair, which does not contribute to its healthy quality. Therefore, it is good to avoid using styling tools as much as possible and leave your hair in its natural shape.

Otherwise, follow basic tips to protect yourself from its negative effects, such as:

1. Use protective products, such as oils, serums, which offer thermal protection at high degrees Celsius.

2. When using the straightener, set it to the lowest level required and do not overdo it, thinking that the desired result will not come out.

Limit styling products with “harsh ingredients”:

Some contain chemicals, such as alcohol, that can damage the hair structure.

As with the above treatments, look for those with natural ingredients like aloe vera or hair-friendly oils. Apply as much as is necessary and of course do not neglect proper cleaning. Many times, as with gel or hairspray, we do not proceed with their careful removal and this results in their remains being inside the hair for a long time, causing dryness and stiffness.

Careful & gentle styling:

The simplest daily routines require basic steps to avoid damaging the hair.

1. Choose a comb that has wide teeth and is made of soft materials such as wood or silicone. This will reduce hair breakage.

2. Start combing from the ends of the hair and gradually move towards the root.

3. Use gentle movements and avoid excessive pulling. If you encounter resistance when combing, it may be necessary to use a moisturizing oil to make it easier.

4. Hair is more sensitive when it is wet, so avoid combing it immediately after bathing. Let them dry slightly first.

5. If you encounter knots, try to untangle them with your fingers.

At the hair salon:

At regular intervals it is recommended that you visit your hairdresser so that he can observe the condition of your hair. The specialist will have a complete opinion about it and will be able to advise you properly and recommend the ideal home care products.

In addition, a key step is trimming the ends, at least 3 points every 2 - 3 months. The hair in this way is renewed and the split ends are avoided, which create a distressed look.

Of course, treatments play a significant role too. There are various options in the salon to refresh and enhance them.

Hydration Treatment: Contributes positively to restoring moisture to decaparized hair. During the treatment, the hairdresser will use special products rich in moisturizing ingredients such as aloe vera, provitamin B5 and others.

Restructuring Treatment: Harsh hair experiences such as heat treatment, use of chemicals and exposure to the environment can cause loss of elasticity and dehydration. These treatments aim to restore and strengthen the hair structure, restoring keratin loss and improving hair health.

A recommended treatment is Awapuhi with Keratin and Awapuhi plant extracts for up to 80% more shine up to 35% and longer lasting color up to 67%. It works from the inside of the hair to the ends.

Ideal for dry, brittle hair with immediate and visible results!
